Badge not included in workshop, and must be ordered separately from the Girl Scout store. Snow Snack (Tuesday, December 21) This family friendly workshop is recommended for ages 5 and older. Snow Adventure (Wednesday, December 22) This family friendly workshop is recommended for ages 5 and older. Daisy, Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts attending will complete most requirements for the Snow or Climbing Adventure Badge. Go on your outdoor adventure to complete the final badge requirement. Badge not included in workshop, and must be ordered separately from the Girl Scout store. Snow Inventions (Thursday, December 23) This family friendly workshop is recommended for ages 5 and older. Wizarding Workshops - Second Year (Winter Term)

Beaverton Civic Theatre is pleased to inform you that Junior and Cadette Girl Scouts are invited to attend interactive Zoom acting workshops designed for those who wish to specialize in witchcraft and wizardry. There are no prerequisites for any of the workshops. Girls are invited to register for any workshops that interest them! 1.5-hour interactive Zoom workshops Reply by owl is not available at this time. Ouch (January 8) Can you tell the difference between wizard and non-wizard illnesses and injuries? Girl Scouts Participating on Jan 8 will complete the following badge requirements: Junior Badge Requirements - First Aid (2, 3, 4, 5), Cadette Badge Requirements - First Aid (1,2). Juniors and Cadettes attending both Jan 8 and Jan 15 will complete all requirements for First Aid. Badge not included in workshop, and must be ordered separately from the Girl Scout store. Forbidden Journey (January 15) A wizarding field trip to bring back the school's precious stone. Girl Scouts Participating on Jan 15 will complete the following badge requirements: Junior Badge Requirements - First Aid (1), Cadette Badge Requirements - First Aid (3, 4, 5). Juniors and Cadettes attending both Jan 8 and Jan 15 will complete all requirements for First Aid. Badge not included in workshop, and must be ordered separately from the Girl Scout store. Astronomy (January 22) It's time to learn about stars and planets in one of the core classes of Wizarding School. Girl Scouts Participating on Jan 22 will complete the following badge requirements: Junior Badge Requirements - Space Science Investigator (1, 2, 3), Cadette Badge Requirements - Space Science Researcher (3, 4). Juniors attending both Jan 22 and Jan 29 will complete all requirements for Space Science Investigator. Cadettes attending both Jan 22 and Jan 29 will complete all requirements for Space Science Researcher. Badge not included in workshop, and must be ordered separately from the Girl Scout store. Advanced Astronomy (January 29) Hands-on experiments to manipulate and control light and detailed planetary studies. Girl Scouts Participating on Jan 29 will complete the following badge requirements: Junior Badge Requirements - Space Science Investigator (4, 5), Cadette Badge Requirements - Space Science Researcher (1, 2, 5). Juniors attending both Jan 22 and Jan 29 will complete all requirements for Space Science Investigator. Magic Rules Wizarding (February 5) Explore the government of the Wizarding World and create a campaign to lead this magical world. Junior Girl Scouts Participating on Feb 5 will complete all the badge requirements for Junior Badge Inside Government. Wizardly Debate & Compromise (February 12) Suggest solutions and make decisions to keep peace in the Wizarding World. Cadette Girl Scouts Participating on Feb 12 will complete all the badge requirements for Cadette Badge Finding Common Ground. Badge not included in workshop, and must be ordered separately from the Girl Scout store. Wizard Values (February 19) Identify what is important to you and how you can help others. Girl Scouts Participating on Feb 19 will complete the following badge requirements: Junior Badge - Independence (2, 3, 4), Cadette Badge - Budgeting (1, 4). Juniors attending both Feb 19 and Feb 26 will complete all requirements for Independence. Cadettes attending both Feb 19 and Feb 26 will complete all requirements for Budgeting. Spending and Saving (February 26) Travel to the Wizard's bank, save your money and journey to the famous filming locations of Harry Potter. Girl Scouts Participating on Feb 26 will complete the following badge requirements: Junior Badge - Independence (1, 5), Cadette Badge - Budgeting (2, 3, 5). Juniors attending both Feb 19 and Feb 26 will complete all requirements for Independence. Cadettes attending both Feb 19 and Feb 26 will complete all requirements for Budgeting. Saturday Family Favorite Workshop Series
Ages: Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts
Saturdays, Januray 8 - February 26 @ 10 - 11 AM
Junior Badge: Detective (January 8) Go behind the scenes with Beaverton Civic Theatre and discover the costumes, props and set pieces from their production of Clue: The Musical. You will also investigate items from the productions of Ramona Quimby and The Miracle Worker (the story of Helen Keller). Study the crime scene, communicate in code, analyze handwriting and examine fingerprints. During this one hour Zoom workshop Junior Girl Scouts will earn the Detective badge. Badge is not included, please order the badge directly from Girl Scouts. Brownie Badge: Dancer (January 15) Let’s use dance to tell a story! Beaverton Civic Theatre’s production of Annie had several scenes with dancing orphans. We’ll go behind the scenes and explore how costumes, props and acting contributed to the storytelling and dance in the production of Annie. Then we’ll get moving with warm-ups, learn some simple steps and have a dance party! During this one hour Zoom workshop Brownie Girl Scouts will earn the Dancer badge. Junior Badge: Playing the Past (January 22) Journey to the past with Beaverton Civic Theatre’s production of Silent Sky and explore the life of Henrietta Leavitt, an astronomer in the early 1900’s who worked at Harvard as a human computer and charted the stars! Step back in time and create a diary entry, costume and craft from the turn of the century. We’ll have a virtual historical tour of Harvard and see where Henrietta worked and made her discoveries! During this one hour Zoom workshop Junior Girl Scouts will earn the Playing the Past badge. Badge is not included, please order the badge directly from Girl Scouts. Brownie Badge: Space Science Adventurer (January 29) Celebrate space with Beaverton Civic Theatre’s production of Silent Sky and explore the life of Henrietta Leavitt, an astronomer in the early 1900’s who worked at Harvard as a human computer and charted the stars! Step back in time and see how Henrietta used star plates and spankers to compare the brightness of stars. We’ll study stars, constellations, planets and the moon through crafts, games and a space party! During this one hour Zoom workshop Brownie Girl Scouts will earn the Space Science Adventurer badge. Badge is not included, please order the badge directly from Girl Scouts. Junior Badge: Social Butterfly (February 5) Have a conversation with the director of Beaverton Civic Theatre’s production of Ramona Quimby and with the actress who played Ramona (she’s also a Girl Scout!). In the production Ramona attended her Aunt’s wedding. In our workshop, we’ll find out how the costumes, props and set created the on stage wedding. Practice setting the table and making thank you gifts! Learn some virtual games and you’ll be ready to host your own virtual party. During this one hour Zoom workshop, Junior Girl Scouts will complete four of the Social Butterfly badge requirements. Brownie Badge: Bugs (February 12) Go behind the scenes of Beaverton Civic Theatre’s production of Charlotte’s Web and explore the world of bugs! How do spiders look, live and move? We’ll research spiders and go on a virtual field trip to see if the props, costumes and set pieces used in the production represent spider facts. Learn how the baby spiders were made for the production and make your own. During this one hour Zoom workshop Brownie Girl Scouts will earn the Bugs badge. Badge is not included, please order the badge directly from Girl Scouts. Junior Badge: Musician (February 19) Explore the use of music in theatre, dance and the movies. Learn about musical instruments and composers. Go behind the scenes with Beaverton Civic Theatre and see how the sound effects and music were created for the production of Charlotte’s Web. During this workshop you will create your own musical instrument and participate in creating orchestration to scenes from Beaverton Civic Theatre’s productions of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and The Hundred Dresses. In this one hour Zoom workshop Junior Girl Scouts will earn the Musician badge. Badge is not included, please order the badge directly from Girl Scouts. Brownie Badge: Money Manager (February 26) Beaverton Civic Theatre’s production of Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: A Rock Experience featured a clothing store. Let’s go virtual shopping and help the Naked Mole Rats buy new clothes. What do Naked Mole Rats eat? We’ll make a grocery list and compare prices to get the best deals. We’ll even help the Naked Mole Rats buy school supplies and plan an outdoor adventure. During this one hour Zoom workshop Brownie Girl Scouts will earn the Money Manager badge.
