Nearly every culture has its version of “the Cinderella story” - a young girl who rises from “rags to riches” with the aid of a magical spirit. Though the journey and tone may differ in each, ultimately, we feel comforted seeing that good truly does triumph over evil in the end. Our hope with this project is for audiences to explore “the Cinderella story” through multiple cultural lenses side-by-side, leading to an appreciation of the history and tradition that makes each unique, as well as the thematic bonds that connect them together.
