Melissa Riley, Producing Artistic Director & Founder Email: melissa@beavertoncivictheatre.org Melissa moved to Beaverton from Los Angeles to work as the First Assistant Director on the Academy Award nominated animated feature film, Coraline. She founded BCT in 2009 and continues to oversee productions, maintaining an inclusive environment that values the contributions from all involved. An assistant director for feature films and television, BCT started when Melissa had time between projects to direct a play at the former Kingstad Center. Enthusiastically the community supported her production and one play became an entire first season of the Beaverton Civic Theatre. Melissa received the Beaverton Art Commission’s Art Leadership Award and was described as “a tremendous asset and visionary for the artistic community of Beaverton.” When not at the theatre, Melissa coordinates the Raleigh Park Elementary School Talent show and leads a troop of Daisy Girl Scouts.
Annie Wach, Company Manager Annie relocated to Beaverton in 2012 after graduating from The Evergreen State College, where she studied theatre in addition to linguistics and neuro-biology. She first joined BCT in 2014 as sound designer for Into the Woods. She got hooked by the passionate community and started stage managing the following year. At the end of 2017, she accepted the dream job of Production Manager which allows her to work with every director and team to make sure each show has that BCT spark! When she's not working with the theatre, she's at her day job as a technical recruiter, reading or lounging with her cats.
Amanda Clark, Community Engagement Manager Email: amanda@beavertoncivictheatre.org Amanda has been working with Beaverton Civic Theatre since 2011, first as a volunteer. She holds degrees, with honors, in Advertising and Acting from Ball State University. In addition to her work with the theatre, Amanda runs her own social media marketing company, Raindrop Social Media, serves on the Beaverton Arts Commission, and is a board member of the Central Beaverton NAC. She has a passion for community theatre and the way it gives us a chance to use storytelling to share life experiences so we can all understand each other, and our world, just a little better. When she isn't performing onstage or directing a production, Amanda enjoys yoga, wine tasting, and curling up in front of the fireplace with a great book.
Jenny Cyphers, Production Manager Email: jenny@beavertoncivictheatre.org Jenny Cyphers is currently the technical director and volunteer coordinator/enthusiast, helping everyone feel at home and using their varied talents behind the scenes. She has a BA in dance and taught dance classes for many years before becoming involved with BCT. Theater combines many things she loves, art, costumes, making things, historical trivia, and social commentary and she gets to do all of these things while working with talented volunteers that make up the BCT "family".
Mary Johnson, Accountant I have had the pleasure of working with the Beaverton Civic Theatre since 2013. I was looking for an opportunity to get involved in our community, and I found BCT to be a group of warm and welcoming people to work with. My background is accounting not acting, I am so enjoying being with people who are doing what they do because they love it! Email: tickets@beavertoncivictheatre.org
